Reversible Fold-Over Elastic Binding
It’s binding – it’s elastic! Plain edges, nothing fancy. The elastic can even be turned inside out for a matte finish! Our customers use our Reversible Fold-Over Elastic Binding as a finishing trim along the top (or bottom) of a bra or to finish the legs or waistline of panties. We have used this Elastic Binding as an elastic-free finish for those who are sensitive to latex elastic.
Our ⅜” Fold-Over Binding is made of Nylon and Spandex, not rubber (latex). The ⅜” wide Fold-Over Elastic is a classic, tailored binding that is very easy to apply. The elastic is narrow enough to complement the edge, yet is wide enough to sew on easily. Simply fold it in half along the pre-marked fold and sew along the edge with a small zig-zag (some use 1 x 1 and others use 2 x 2). It can be sewn in one pass or two. We have used a fabric glue stick to hold the Fold-Over Binding on the edge of the fabric while we sew it. It makes sewing much easier!
Colours:
Our ⅜” Elastic is available in a wide variety of colours, which are dyed according to the Pantone Fashion, Home + Interiors colour chart. Each of our Fold-Over Elastic colours is shown with the corresponding Pantone colour code. If you have the Pantone chart, you may check our colours against it for an accurate colour depiction. Our Fold-Over Elastic is also dyed to match many of our other fabrics and supplies. Many of our fabrics such as Duoplex, Power Net, Stretch Mesh, Double Knit Power Net, and Stretch Satin can be matched with this Elastic. Other supplies such as our Band Elastic, Satin Strap Elastic, and Plush Underwire Casing are also available in many matching colours.
