Cancellation & Credit Policy
We are a small worker-owned business and cancellations represent a financial loss for us. We appreciate your understanding of the following policy.
Class Dates & Times
It is your responsibility to keep track of which classes, Sewcials and private lessons you have signed up for as well as their dates and times. We try to send out reminders one week before classes occur. Any failure on our part to do so or your non-receipt of a reminder email does not constitute cause for a refund.
Group Classes
If you book a class and cannot attend, please let us know as soon as possible. If you cancel with…
- two weeks or more’s notice: we will offer you a refund.
- between one and two weeks' notice: we will attempt to fill your spot. If we're able to fill the spot, we will offer you a refund. If we are unable to fill the spot for any reason, we will offer you a gift card for the value of the class.
- less than a week's notice or after a multi-week course has started, no refunds or credits will be issued.
Please note: we don’t offer refunds or credits for missing any portion of a multi-week course.
In the event that we are unable to fill a group class, we reserve the right to cancel it. In these situations, a full refund will be offered to you.
Private Lessons
You must provide us with a minimum of 48 business hours' notice for cancellation or rescheduling of a private lesson. If you provide us with less notice, no refunds or credits will be issued.
Expiring Credits
The Makehouse was sold and became a co-op with new owners on December 1, 2022. As of December 1, 2024, we will no longer be honouring credits or paper gift cards issued by the previous owner as we did not receive the funds related to these transactions.
