Could this be THE (unofficial) social distancing mascot for 2020?
What plant says "Don't touch me" more than a cactus?
What animal says "I don't need you here" more than a cat?
Put those two together and you've got a Catcus - an easy yet adorable project. Not only is this piece easily customizable by changing the colours and/or the basic features but it also makes a perfect gift.
Just think about it - it thrives under ANY lighting conditions and never requires watering or feeding. Stitch them up for your friends, family or anyone that could use a smile. This download comes with the pattern pieces to stitch from felt AND the pattern pieces that have seam allowances added on so you can use scrap fabric.
Each kit envelope contains step-by-step photo illustrated instructions, TWO sets of paper pattern pieces - one for felt and another with seam allowances added for stitching with fabric), sheet of bright green felt*, pair of 6mm safety eyes, embroidery floss, needle and pins. I describe it as Beginner and recommend it for ages 8 and up.
Finished Catcus measure approx. 5" x 4" (13cm x 10cm).
Clay pot and stuffing are not included as the finished piece is easy to stuff using scraps of felt or fabric cut into small bits, cotton balls as well as traditional stuffing. It also helps keep the shipping cost much lower as it can travel Canada Post letter mail.
* The felt provided is 100% rayon/viscose which is an organic material made from processed wood pulp and tinted with vegetable-based dyes and has a characteristically soft feel. These pieces are perfect either as whimsical decorative pieces or to be used in gentle play.
They are not recommended for small children.
