
Have you always wanted to learn how to sew? We offer a 4 part sewing boot camp will help get you going. Repetition is important in learning any new skill, so practicing your sewing 4 sessions in a row will help to cement what you have learned and open new doors to your creative sewing life!

In this workshop you will learn:
- Basic sewing vocabulary
- Helpful tools you’ll need to sew at home
- Sewing machine parts and functions
- How to wind a bobbin and thread the machine
- How to sew in a straight line and pivot around corners
- How to sew in reverse
- Sewing a straight seam
- Marking & sewing darts
- Hemming
- Applying bias binding and facings
Week 1 – Introduction to Sewing – Shopping Tote
Week 2 – Body Measurements & Pattern Prep, Cutting & Marking
Week 3 – Garment Construction
Week 4 – Garment Construction & Finishing
You will need to purchase the following:
Tote Bag Project
You will need 2 fat quarters or a 1/2 meter of medium to heavy weight cotton and a matching spool of polyester thread.

Equipment requirements: Please note that we provide a sewing machine for you to use in the studio, but you are more than welcome to bring your machine from home. If you’d like to bring your home machine, please remember to bring the manual (and foot pedal/power cord).
