In this 4 week workshop with Victoria based artist Katy Biele you will learn how to do contemporary embroidery in a freestyle way inspired by Katy's South American style using bold textures and bright colors.
The first two classes will be experimental, working on linen, learning textures and also floral designs, that you will work on in the last two classes. You can apply what you have learned on your own clothing - Denim jackets or a sweatshirts are great to stitch on!

Materials Provided:
ALL THE MATERIALS ARE INCLUDED. You just need to bring a piece of clothing to embroider on (no stretchy knit fabrics). This workshop includes the following materials:
Hand dyed threads
Needles
Embroidery Hoop
Fabric
Equipment requirements: All equipment is provided for this workshop.
Group size: We like to keep our workshops cozy and fun, so attendance is limited to 8 guests. Minimum of 4 guests.* Tea will be served during this class, and you are more than welcome to bring a snack with you.
Artist Bio
Katy Bielefelt is a Chilean designer and artist currently in Victoria BC, Canada. Continually exploring and experimenting with various hands-on mediums of design. Most of her paintings and textile art are inspired by different cultures and colours around the world. Follow Katy on Instagram!
