Are you curious about Zero Waste and Low-Waste sewing? Ready to try sewing a garment based on your actual body measurements and without pattern pieces? This class is for you! This is the first of what we hope will be many more low/zero-waste sewing classes that we offer in 2024-5.
In this two-week class, we will be making the Throw Jacket by Cris Wood Sews. The Throw Jacket is an oversized, versatile wrap-style jacket with patch pockets. A simple garment with lovely finishing techniques, the Throw Jacket is a great layering piece for any season!

Skill Requirements
**Must have completed two or more woven garment sewing projects. **
Must be aged 16+
What You Will Learn:
- How to take basic body measurements
- How to calculate the size of your garment pieces using simple mathematical formulas
- How to cut out your garment pieces without using a pattern
- How to construct your jacket utilizing serging, topstitching, double-folded seams and hems.

- Throw Jacket instructions, available for purchase on Cris Wood Sews' website. Please note: you are responsible for printing out the instructions yourself or for bringing them on a tablet. We are unfortunately unable to print your instructions for you.

Please note that our discount policy is changing on September 1/24. Students will receive 20% off of patterns, fabric & notions for their class projects and 10% off of non-class specific supplies for the duration of their classes.
Preparing For Your First Class
Please buy and wash your fabric in advance. We strongly recommend that you wash and dry your fabric in the same way that you will wash and dry your garment. This will ensure your fabric will pre-shrink before you make your garment.
