
Have you always wanted to learn how to sew garments?
This is a four-part advanced beginner sewing course that will help get you going. Repetition is important in building on new skills, so practicing your sewing four weeks in a row will help to cement what you learn and open new doors to your creative garment sewing life!
You will have the opportunity to make one garment in this 4 week class. We have a selection of garment patterns to choose from that you will want to pick before the class. ** See 'Patterns' section below.
Skill Level: Advanced beginner
Skill requirements:
Couple of our 'Learn to Sew' series classes, Home Sewing Boot Camp (All under Beginner Sewing Workshops) OR basic sewing experience such as knowing how to thread and use a sewing machine, wind a bobbin, construct simple seams, and be familiar with sewing terminology such as "right sides of fabric together" and "seam allowance."
Must be aged 16+
In this workshop you will learn:
- New sewing vocabulary
- Basic fabric knowledge
- How to read and work with garment patterns
- Proper body measurements
- Marking & sewing darts
- Seam finishing
- Hemming
- Applying bias binding and facings
Week 1– Body Measurements & Pattern Prep.
Week 2 - Cutting and Marking, begin garment construction
Week 3 – Garment Construction
Week 4 – Cont. Garment Construction & Finishing
You will need to purchase the following: Pattern (see below), woven fabric appropriate to your chosen pattern, thread and any other notions noted on your pattern. (**These items will need to be purchased well in advance of the class)

**You are more than welcome to call or come by the shop to discuss your pattern and fabric choices with us!
We offer a 20% student discount on all your supplies for this workshop! You will be sent a code to use online once you've registered for your class!
Equipment requirements: We highly encourage you to bring your own sewing machine, however if you don't own a machine, one will be provided for you. If you’d like to bring your home machine, please remember to bring the manual (and foot pedal/power cord) and arrive 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time.
Group size: Maximum 5 guests to keep our classes cozy and fun!
