"Smile" Reward Program

Signing Up
You automatically get signed up for an account with The Makehouse and with our rewards program, "Smile" when a customer profile is created in our system. This can be done by providing your contact info to us in the store or by you placing an order on-line and creating an account with us.

Earning Points
Points are earned on every purchase you make with us, whether it’s in-store or on-line, on classes and supplies. You even earn points on sale items!

Using Points
Points can be used towards any purchase of regularly priced items or an individual item that is on clearance. It cannot be combined with a store-wide sale. (See below for details).

Checking Point Balance
To see how many points you have or to redeem points, go to themakehouse.ca. In the bottom corner, a green circular or oval “button” that looks like a shopping bag with a heart will show up. Click on this. Log in or create an account. Once this is done, click on "redeem"/"ways to redeem" until you get to a screen that shows you the number of points you have and the dollar value.

Redeeming Points for a Coupon
After logging in to your Smile account, you can use the slider to select how many points you want to redeem/what value of coupon. If you don’t use the slider, Smile will redeem your maximum number of points. Smile will then provide you with a coupon code that you can use on-line or in the store.

Important Notes

- Coupons can only be used once. For example: if you redeem a coupon for $30 but only spend $20 before tax, you will lose the remaining $10 worth of points. It’s a good idea to look at your total before tax first and then creating a coupon second.

- Coupons cannot be combined with any other “global” discounts (e.g. student discounts, store-wide sales). For example, if you have a student discount of 20% because you’re taking a class, you have to choose either to use the student discount or a coupon code. You can’t use both. You can use a coupon code for individual items that are on sale (e.g. a remnant or clearance fat quarter).
