Pre-Finished Foam Padding Cut and Sew Foam
Our Pre-Finished Foam Padding is a non-itchy, lightweight, poly-laminate foam. It is very easy to sew the foam together to make bra cups or swim cups. The Pre-finished Foam Padding is finished on both sides with a Chlorine resistant, soft polyester knit. Customers use the foam for swimsuits, bikini tops, swim cups, bra cups, padded straps, or interior bra support collars.
This Cut and Sew Foam is also used for a pattern-making method which we call 3-D pattern making. Simply sew a cup with the foam, then draw new style lines directly on the foam padding. Re-cut along those lines, adding any match points or notches you deem necessary. Add seam allowances to the edges you cut and voila, you have pattern pieces for the new style of cup.
The Pre-Finished Foam Padding is made from 100% polyester and is 26-30″ (66-75 cm) wide and is approximately 1/8″ (3mm) thick. The foam does have some mechanical give in the crosswise direction. Sold by the full or part metre.
Uses:
The Pre-finished Foam Padding is used in a variety of garments, anywhere a quality foam padding is necessary. Customers use the padding for Cut and Sew Foam Bra Cups and Swimwear Foam Cups. The foam is Chlorine resistant, making it a great choice for swimwear. Customers also use this foam to make comfortable padded bra straps and interior bra support collars. Its primary use, however, is for Cut and Sew foam-lined bra cups, and as such, it is a superlative product. The shaping that a cut & sew foam cup provides is second to none.
Bra-makers Tip – To make your own foam cups, simply trim seam allowances from the cross cup seam. Then, butt the raw edges of the padding together and stitch across them with a zig-zag stitch. The stitching will keep the foam edges together and the result will be a seamless look.
