Talking Thread – Embroidery Workshop

Join Diana Weymar for an inspiring hand embroidery workshop at The Makehouse .

This workshop explores how we think about memory, loss, political events, identities, meaning, text, and photography using thread and textile. Diana will share pieces from her studio with participants and discuss in detail the ways in which she approaches the thematic elements of her work.

Diana Weymar is the creator of Interwoven Stories, an international community-based, socially engaged textile and stitching project. You can see images of her work on her public Instagram account. @dianaweymar

Product Description

We welcome local artist Diana Weymar who is recently back from her extended travels!
During this workshop we will explore the properties of thread and how to think about it creatively. Though we will be working on our own specific pieces, the goal of this workshop it to develop a way of thinking creatively about the things closest to us to physically and metaphorically.
