Pattern Making Women’s Wear: Drafting the Basic Bodice Block
In this pattern making workshop you will learn proven fashion industry pattern making techniques to professionally draft the women’s basic bodice block using your individual body measurements for a personalized fit. You will draft, sew, and fit your personalized bodice blocks, which can then be used to create your own made to measure designs.
No previous patternmaking experience is necessary. Participants will leave the class with a bodice block drafted to their personal size and the knowledge of how to make a bodice block for any set of body measurements. This is the perfect class for aspiring designers and beginner patternmakers, or home sewers wanting to develop their own patterns.
Drafting paper and use of tools are included but students will need to purchase muslin (calico) for sewing their mock-up.
Please wear a tank top and leggings to the first class to ensure accurate measurements. You should also wear your regular and supportive under garments, and bring a calculator to the class.
