Make Club is a fun creative space to learn and practice the art of sewing and other textile related crafts . During each session there will be a different activity planned (sometimes seasonal like Christmas, Valentine’s Day etc). We vary from sewing projects including fashion accessories, tote bags, fashion up-cycling & mending, embroidery, hand sewing to needle felting and fabric painting, collage & stamping.
Open session – The last session of each month will be our open work session so that youngsters have a chance to explore a project of their own or repeat an previous Make Club project. We have some students for example who like to make custom doll clothes and many who like to sew gifts for their loved ones. We ask that everyone writes down their goals the week before so that we are best equipped to help them the following week!
Your child’s place at Make Club must be pre-booked. You can now pre-register on our website, by phone 778.430.6253 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. In order to plan suitable activities and staff, we require you to book a month at a time. We can sometimes accommodate bookings for a occasional students depending on numbers so please get in touch!
The cost is $20 per session including materials (if your child has a clothing or quilting project in mind, you may be required to purchase additional supplies).
Please note that if your child has never used a sewing machine before, we recommend booking a one hour intro to the sewing machine with us prior to registering for Make Club. The format of Make Club does not allow enough time for intensive 1-1 tuition for new students. We do refreshers and cover lots of new techniques in machine sewing, hand sewing and needle felting during the sessions, but it’s important for safety for each child to have some machine background.
You are welcome to send in a snack with your kids each day.
