Product Description

Clothes Club is geared towards ages 12-17. Participants must have basic sewing skills to attend. The includes being able to thread the sewing machine, sew straight lines & curves, back stitch [sewing backwards] and have completed several sewing projects either at home or in school. This series is best suited for students who do practice some sewing at home or in school and are seeking ongoing instruction to keep challenging themselves.

We will be learning about choosing the right fabrics, reading patterns, the correct way to cut, and most importantly constructing garments. We will also cover finishing techniques including hemming, zippers, button holes and working with elastics. During each session there will be a choice of in-house patterns to work from but we also welcome students to bring in projects that they’re already working on at home.

Sewing equipment, patterns and certain materials are included in the cost, however you will need to purchase fabrics for the clothing projects. We offer a 20% discount on fabrics and Gala Fabrics also extend a 20% discount to our students. If you already have a fabric stash at home, even better to start working through it!

If you already has a sewing machine at home you are welcome to bring it to Clothes Club, however we do have machines for everyone to use in the studio.

Clothes Club will be limited to a maximum of 8 students with two skilled instructors so there is plenty of one to one help!

We encourage you to send snacks and refreshments with students as it’s much easier to be creative when you have fuel for the brain! We provide water and herbal teas. Please inform us if your child has any food allergies.
