Sew your own bamboo boxers
This wonderful workshop will take you through the process of a basic pair of boxers from start to finish. You’ll begin by choosing your fabrics from a selection of pre-cut fabrics in your chosen size and style. We’ll then show you how to construct your garments using a serger and apply the elastics with a sewing machine.
Whether you’ve never touched a serger before or need a refresher after a long break, this workshop can help get you going!
These form-fitting trunks are designed by Thread Theory with comfort in mind. No center back seam, a reinforced inseam gusset and a shaped front cup make these boxers fit like a second skin without the worry of rubbing or shifting.
Short, athletic legs and a smooth elastic waistband create a streamlined silhouette that can be worn under everything from slim fit pants to gym shorts.
This pattern is a hard-wearing design with a classic fit. Create a hand-made wardrobe of these designs so as to always be comfortably and stylishly ready for the next adventure!
Your own copy of the Comox Trunks sewing pattern by Thread Theory is included in the workshop fee (RRP $24).
In this workshop you will learn:
- How and when to use a serger
- How to work with waistband elastics
- How to create a lined guesset with hidden seams
- How to hem or add a band to the legs

“Working with patterns, stretchy fabrics, and elastics are three things I tend to avoid but Jenny really took all the fear out of it. From cutting the fabric to the voodoo origami move needed to connect the gusset with a hidden seam, Jenny provided clear guidance. The pattern used is simple enough for beginners like me and easy to adapt for those with more experience.” CD
